In Préverenges, the Camping Club Léman (CCL) celebrates 90 years of discreet but controversial naturism, nestled on the banks of the Venoge. Despite its idyllic setting and friendly atmosphere, the club faces persistent prejudice and legal challenges, such as bans on nude sunbathing and complaints of ‘exhibitionism’.
Members of all ages see it as a philosophy of life focused on relaxation, mutual respect and body confidence. However, strict rules (zero tolerance for inappropriate behaviour) and tensions with neighbours are a reminder that naturism remains a sensitive subject in French-speaking Switzerland.
Between libertarian tradition and social pressure, the CCL embodies a counter-cultural lifestyle, where nudity goes hand in hand with ecology, simplicity... and perseverance.
